Li Song 李松 - Metronome #2 (slow)

about

After Metronome #1, I began to use the metronome's pendulum to hit small objects in my flat: money box, bowl, teapot, and rice cooker pot. The sound produced by the collision and its beat mixed, both seems to become a bit unclear now. About 2 or 3 months later, I started to try other things: I put a large bowl in the kitchen sink and prepared two metronomes. I turned on the tap and let the water flow fall on the pendulum of one metronome; the other metronome was hitting the bowl. All these turn out to be very unstable. I couldn't completely control the water flow, metronomes and the collision. I like this process.
When I played back the recording on my computer afterwards, I accidentally changed the playback speed. It is playing a bit slower than the original speed, which sounds a bit strange. I tried to adjust it slower and faster again. I was thinking at that moment: how slowly does it make it sounds not like a metronome anymore?
